jesmond community festival 2018 the jesmond community forum festival 5 may - 27 may 2018 the 2018 jesmond community festival starts with a spectacular fair on saturday 5th and continues with more than 100 more events through to sunday 27th may. as usual, there is something for everyone, from toddlers to pensioners, with choral concerts, talks, readings, open days, family fun activities, walking tours, jazz, competitions, a fair and much more!.. most events free! unless otherwise stated, all the events in this programme are free, although some require booking in advance. where charges are made, they are kept low, to cover costs, or to raise money for a named charity. the full programme is on this site, below. most events will be free and open to all, but in some cases there will be a small charge, and advance booking will be necessary for a limited number of the most popular events. most of last year's venues are taking part again in 2018, but for the first time we also look forward to some exciting new events and, of course, the fair on the first saturday, sat 5th may. for further information in due course, keep watching this website, or our facebook page . or you can pick up a free programme from oxfam books and music, jesmond library, or various other community locations. a pdf of the festival programme can be downloaded here . - - -- festival launch sat 5 may 10am – 4:00pm grand festival fair british legion car park (west jesmond avenue), st hilda's church (thornleigh road), and forecourt of west jesmond metro station. entertainment, music, food, crafts, fun, community groups and market, on in the car park, or, if the weather is poor, in the church hall. get more information about festival events at our fair. community stalls, music, children's activities, crafts, food and entertainment, indoors and outside. something for everyone, a great opportunity to find out about all our festival events. come and join the fair! entertainment will include display of art from west jesmond primary school and northern counties school in st hilda's church. the festival fair is presented in partnership with nexus, st hilda's church and the royal british legion club. sat 5 may meet at 9:30am holy trinity walkers holy trinity church churchill gardens a 7 mile coastal/countryside circular, starting at seahouses. the meeting point is either at holy trinity (9:15 am) or the car park next to the rnli in seahouses (10:30 am) for more details, or to join the walk, contact [email protected] before thursday 3 may.
